It carries series ID 296 and episode IDs 935 to 939, the highest numbers candy.ai had handed out that day; both counters climb in creation order, so it was the last title made at that point. It was absent from our September 28 check at 12:51 UTC, and by our October 1 check four newer series had arrived, Forgive Me, Father (300) the newest of them.

The setup, in our own words: Ava is throwing a girls’ night and has banished her boyfriend to the bedroom. Twenty minutes into the movie she is asleep on the couch. Her best friend Camilla is not, and Camilla happens to be the boyfriend’s stepsister; she goes to find him. The story is told from the boyfriend’s side. That is the whole of what the listing states, and we stop where it stops.

I went in expecting a rerun of every stepsister plot on the platform and got a small, well-staged farce instead: one sleeping host, one bedroom door, and a lot of whispering in the second free episode.

The closest premise on this site is BAD Step-Sister: a stepsister and a girlfriend under one roof with the narrator, though there the girlfriend asks to join in; here she is asleep. My Girlfriend’s Sister Just Got Divorced puts a girlfriend’s relative in the spare room rather than a stepsister at the door. Caught Between Sisters stretches a two-women tension across fifteen episodes, and Stepsister Summer is the site’s older stepsister title. The Spicy My Girlfriend’s Stepsister has a similar cast list and no free episodes.

Editorial take

The case for Boys Not Allowed is economy. Girls’ night, a sleeping host and a best friend who is also a stepsister hand the writers a locked room and a clock, more structure than most five-episode premises here, and the free pair uses it well.

The case against is that the twist is the title. Once Camilla heads for the bedroom, the remaining three episodes have one direction to go, and the explicit rating on them says which. Watch the free pair; whether the paid three add anything beyond the obvious, we cannot say until we spend the tokens.

Camilla comes across as mischief rather than menace, and that lightness is what kept me watching. Whether it survives the paywall, I cannot tell you yet.
