Of the four titles that turned up on September 25, this is the one whose free pair I watched twice: the tone is closer to a neighborhood comedy than the tags suggest.

Every Wife on Candy Lane is a five-episode title on Candy AI Shorts with the platform’s own cast, listed on candy.ai from September 25, 2026 and absent the day before. The setup, paraphrased: on one suburban street the husbands leave for work every morning, and that is when the neighborhood plumber starts the round that actually matters. Behind every front door a different woman is waiting, each with her own wants and her own rules, and the whole street knows it without anyone saying so. He is Candy Lane’s open secret.

The design is door to door: the plumber is the constant and the woman changes with the house, one per episode, a day after My First Night Shift brought the same idea to a hotel corridor.

Nobody on Candy Lane has a name in the platform’s description. The plumber is the lead and the viewer’s way into each house; he gets a trade and a reputation and nothing else. The wives are one per house and different every time, each with her own wants and rules, so the series is built to change register from door to door. The husbands are the missing third party: gone in the morning and at work for the length of the story.

Every Wife on Candy Lane, My First Night Shift and the September batch

The obvious twin is My First Night Shift, spotted a day earlier: the same door-to-door design with a hotel corridor instead of a street and a night manager instead of a plumber. The other two September 25 titles go the other way: Not Under My Roof keeps one household and piles the pressure on it, and The Maid My Wife Hired keeps two people in one house from nine to eight.

Editorial take

The appeal of Every Wife on Candy Lane is variety at almost no cost to continuity. A weak episode does not sink the next one, and the plumber’s reputation gives the street a through-line the hotel series lacks. For a format that struggles with wide shots, a row of front doors is a sensible stage.

Against it: nobody but the plumber gets more than one episode of development, and the Taboo tag will be a stop sign for some readers. Two free episodes decide it. If the second house is better than the first, 36 tokens finishes the street; if not, a rotating cast will not fix that by episode 5.

Where I stand: two houses in, I like the street more than the plumber, and I have not paid for the other three yet. When I do, this page will say whether he grew on me.
