Confession first: I opened this one because the title reads like an instruction, and after two free episodes I can report that Ava delivers it as one.

Whatever Your Stepmom Says is a Candy Shorts series with Candy.ai’s own cast, and on September 25, 2026 it was one of eleven titles in the platform’s New filter. In the platform’s telling, a father is called away on a work trip, leaving two adults behind, his son and Ava, his 22-year-old wife. Before he goes he settles who is in charge with a rule the title paraphrases: while he is away, her word stands. Ava reads that rule as literally as a rule can be read.

The platform tells it in the second person, addressing the son as you, so the viewer stands in his shoes and Ava acts: a power play between two adults rather than a family drama, filed under the tags Stepmom and Taboo.

Whatever Your Stepmom Says next to the other stepmother series

The closest premise on this site is My Stepmom’s Weekend: a father leaves, a young stepmother is left in charge of a college-age stepson, one weekend. That one is a Riley Reid creator title with a licensed twin in the lead; this one uses an original character, costs 12 tokens per locked episode and states its rule in the title. Got Stuck With My Girlfriend’s Stepmom hands the point of view to an outsider trapped in the house, and My Father’s New Queen, listed the same week, moves the young-stepmother premise to a royal court. For a stepmother who needs help rather than rules, Taking Care of My Stepmom, listed by October 29, has her in a leg cast with the father away for two weeks.

Editorial take

This was the most economical premise in the September 2026 New batch: one rule, one house, two adults, a title that states the arrangement up front. Economy suits one-to-three-minute episodes, and Ava is a stronger lead than the stepmother strand usually gets: the story hands her the authority outright instead of making her scheme for it.

The reservations: five short episodes are a short story, not a season; the Stepmom and Taboo tags will settle the question for some readers; and a series built on one rule has to keep finding new uses for it. The free pair costs a login; past that, 36 tokens or a Premium plan, which covers the rest of the catalog too.

Where I have got to: the free episodes, twice, and a note to spend the 36 tokens this weekend. I will revise this guide if the locked three change my view of Ava.
