Honest starting point: of the four Riley Reid titles on Candy AI, this is the one I put off, because the pitch sounded like one joke stretched over five episodes. It is not; the awkward-houseguest energy of the opener carries further than I expected.

My Wife’s Best Friend is the Candy AI Shorts series that turns Riley Reid’s real-world fame into the plot itself. The setup, as the platform frames it: a married couple takes in the wife’s oldest friend, a globally recognized adult performer, and she settles into the spare room. The wife treats her like family and notices nothing; the husband knows exactly who is sleeping down the hall. Every scene lives in that gap.

The poster tells the story in one frame: three people in a living room, the wife relaxed, the husband visibly not. Her other three Candy Shorts titles cast the twin as a stepmom, a stepsister and a yacht-party host; here she is effectively herself, and the series leans on her name accordingly. As of September 2026 the series lists five numbered episodes on candyshorts.com, and inside candy.ai’s Shorts feed it sits in the Shorts featuring Creators row with the newest three flagged New. The platform publishes no individual episode titles, so the table groups them by access.

Each episode runs roughly one to three minutes, and the five form one continuous story.

From my own run-through: the free half is all glances and near-misses, and the third episode is where the tone shifts. I understand why the paywall sits exactly there.

Characters

• The best friend, played by Riley Reid’s AI digital twin. A famous performer staying temporarily, comfortable with the attention she draws.
• The husband, the viewer’s point of view. He recognizes the guest on sight and spends the series trying to act normal.
• The wife, who invited her friend and sees nothing unusual in any of it. Her obliviousness drives the plot.

All three are AI-generated. The guest is a licensed likeness produced through the Candy Creators program; Riley Reid herself filmed nothing for it.

The performer on screen is a generated likeness, not filmed footage, and the platform’s terms describe it as AI-generated. Promotional clips on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube obey those platforms’ rules and leave the explicit material out, so teasers show the tone, not the Premium content. Editorial take

The strength of My Wife’s Best Friend is restraint with its concept. A lazier series would have made the famous houseguest the whole joke; this one keeps the husband’s discomfort in the foreground and lets the guest’s celebrity stay a quiet, constant pressure. It is the most self-aware of the Riley Reid x candy.ai collaborations, and the one where the twin has the most to do as a character rather than as a face on a template.

The weaknesses are the platform’s usual ones: functional dialogue, a thin household setting, and AI rendering that drifts in wider shots. If you have already decided the Riley Reid twin is worth a Premium month, this is the best entry point among her non-Spicy titles. If you are on the fence, watch the free pair and stop; two minutes will tell you whether the premise works.

For what it is worth, I finished all five in one sitting and went straight into My Stepmom’s Weekend afterwards. That has not happened with most of the catalog.
